What happens if there is detention, a layover, or a breakdown?

As the carrier, you are responsible for managing any detention time, unexpected layovers, or breakdowns that may happen during the course of a Relay.

It is important to keep an open line of communication ongoing with the driver in these situations.

If any of these situations occur, we recommend updating the driver pay rate using the following guidelines:

1) Add $25 for each additional hour after 2 hours of detention or breakdown
2) Add $150 for an unexpected layover of more than 8 hours

Be sure to communicate these changes with the driver and edit their pay before they complete the run.
